Holistic Health Training Student Code of Behaviour

Holistic Health Training Ltd (HHT) recognises that massage therapists, like all health providers, occupy positions of trust. Clients must be confident that therapists will act in a safe, respectful, and professional manner at all times. These expectations are embedded throughout the training.

All participants enrolled in HHT training are required to adhere to the following Code of Behaviour. By enrolling in this course, you agree to comply with these standards. Failure to do so may result in withdrawal from the training programme.

1. Respect and Professional Conduct
Participants will respect the rights of others to dignity, modesty, and informed consent, and will conduct themselves with courtesy and professionalism at all times.

2. Participation and Personal Boundaries
Participants have the right to decline any technique on religious, cultural, or safety grounds. However, students attending workshops or shared tutorials are expected to participate fully in both practising and receiving techniques as part of their learning, and to engage appropriately in the feedback process.

3. Adherence to Instruction
Students are expected to follow tutor guidance carefully and to seek clarification where necessary to ensure safe, appropriate, and effective practice.

4. Professional Behaviour in Training Settings
Students are expected to model behaviours consistent with professional therapeutic practice. This includes:

  • Attending all tutorials and workshops punctually (neither arriving excessively early nor late). Tutors allocate specific time for training and may not be able to extend sessions if a student arrives late. Missed sessions without sufficient notice (except in exceptional circumstances) may still be charged.

  • Refraining from making personal comments about another person’s appearance, or any remarks, jokes, or innuendo that could reasonably be interpreted as suggestive or inappropriate.

  • Ensuring that all physical contact remains strictly within a therapeutic and professional context at all times.

  • Presenting for training in appropriate, loose-fitting clothing and comfortable footwear, with a high standard of personal hygiene.

  • Refraining from smoking or vaping during training sessions.

5. Commitment to Training Requirements
Students are expected to remain up to date with their training schedule and fee payments, unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in advance with their tutor.

6. Breach of Code
Any concerns regarding a participant’s conduct will be considered by HHT on a case-by-case basis. HHT reserves the right to determine whether a breach of this Code has occurred and to take appropriate action. This may include requiring corrective action, suspension, or withdrawal from the training programme where behaviour is considered inconsistent with the standards outlined above.
